Rebuilding the City of Jerusalem Part 2 - Water In The Desert

In this Part, we will look at the First three Gates; the Sheep Gate, Fish Gate and Old Gate, and what it means to us today.

1. Rebuilding the Sheep Gate

Neh 3:1-2
(1) Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brothers the priests, and they built the Sheep Gate. They sanctified it and set up its doors, even to the Tower of Meah they sanctified it, to the Tower of Hananeel. (2) And next to him the men of Jericho built. And next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.

    • Eliashib – YHVH will restore, conversion
    • Sheep – “tson” – To migrate from one land to another, sheep, flock
    • Gate – “sha-ar” – ‘gate, hair, to dread, storm, terror, disgusting thing, tempest, unit of measure’ Doors – “deleth” – Lid, something swinging, to hang, to be low, to draw (water).
    • Tower – “migdal” – Tower, elevated place, to become great, important, to grow up.
    • Meach – hundred
    • Jericho - His moon, his month, his sweet smell, moon, month
    • Zaccur - Mindful, to remember, memorial, male.
    • Imri - Many words, speaker, speaking, exalting, a lamb.

Sheep Gate

The word ‘sheep’ is first found in Scripture:

Gen 4:2
And she bore again, his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Abel was a keeper of things not cursed by YHVH and Cain was a tiller of things cursed by YHVH. Keeper – “rah” - Evil, to cry out, friend Sheep – “tson” - Sheep, flock, something prickly, thorn, to migrate. Able was a man that migrated and moved away from evil and cried out to YHVH because of the affliction that pricked Him and the evil that haunted him. Tiller – “abad” - To work, slave. Ground – “adamah” - Ground, red, earth. Cain was a slave of the ground that was under the feet of the flock Abel kept. This placed Able in a higher authority than Cain. Cain was born first and had the first choice, but chose wrong. Abel was born second and took what was left (servant attitude), and got the better part. Indirectly Cain became a slave of the ground that was subject to Able that made him a slave of Able. So we can choose to be at a higher level spiritually (sheep), by keeping (friend) YHVH’s Word, and proclaim (cry out) it. Then we will have dominion over the earth (ground) and not enslaved by it. Abel’s focus was on higher thins than the ground and Cain’s focus on the ground, caused him to become subject to it.

The word ‘Gate’ is first found in Scripture:

Gen 19:1
And there came two angels to Sodom at evening. And Lot sat in the gate of Sodom. And Lot rose up to meet them when he saw them. And he bowed himself with his face toward the ground,

The word ‘gate’ refers back to the story of Lot, sitting at the gate of Sodom. Sodom means burning or volcanic district. The name of this city became its destiny, and all the people in it were judged with fire. Lot looked like a righteous man at the gate of Sodom (evil). He was not as righteous as Abraham, living at the mountain. Lot gives us a picture of believers today, sitting together with the world, looking just like them, being more righteous, compared to them. They measure themselves with the world and not the Word. The Word is at the mountain (Torah), where Abraham lived. They will find salvation, but will be saved going through on their skins. This is a place of gambling with your salvation, rather be safe and live at the mountain. To put the Sheep Gate in context with the bigger picture, we see that this is a time frame between the first and second coming of Y’shua. The earth will be judged with fire and we have met the Shepard.

What is the lesson for these people in this timeframe?

    • Sheep – “tson” - Sheep, flock, something prickly, thorn, to migrate.

YHVH will restore His people, both flocks coming back under His leadership. Gate always has to do with judgement and the gathering will happen just before the judgement. There will be a migration from one land to another (spiritually and maybe physically). People will have to leave their old ways and change their view regarding the Messiah (Jews). The other flock must pack their things and move from Sodom to the Mountain (Instructions of YHVH – Believers – Church today – scattered Israel).

Mat 15:24
But He answered and said, I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. YHVH wants us to come out of the system of religion and follow only His command.

Rev 3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; therefore be zealous and repent.

This journey will not be gentle fun ride, there will be storms, dread and evil things to face and overcome. The key to survival is to hang low, holding on to His guidance (Word + Spirit) and draw from His water (Word), learning what to do and where to go. Using this key will elevate your strength and grow up spiritually. Remember to keep the memorials of His festivals (moons, months), giving us timing for His coming and His judgements. Then you will smell the sweet smell of His Salvation and at the very end, everybody saved, will exalt the Lamb of YHVH, Y’shua HaMassiah.

To fix up the Sheep Gate, it needs a Door and a Tower that is sanctified.

    • Doors – “deleth” – Lid, something swinging, to hang, to be low, to draw (water).
    • Tower – “migdal” – Tower, elevated place, to become great, important, to grow up.
    • Meach – Hundred

This Gate is an entry place for His Sheep. His sheep are seen as people that keep His Word and honour His appointed times. They seek the Truth and listen to their Sheppard Y’shua; eating from the pastures He leads them to. By doing this, you will enter through the Door (Y’shua) and will become great and grow up spiritually because they obey His Word. The Sheep Gate is also a warning of preparation to those who follow His Prophesies and appointed times. They must be ready to migrate in the troubled times, not holding onto the physical things (Cain).

They must remember thay Y’shua is the Door and the only way to salvation. They must guard their hearts (Tower) from judging people not following the Messiah or Torah. In the end they will be lifted up to His high Place and exult the Lamb. (New Jerusalem). This is the Gate to enter and I encourage all to rebuild this Gate with the Instructions of YHVH. Remember also the Gate of Sodom, not to look righteous compared to the world, but be righteous according to YHVH’s standards. This is the Gate through which all of us must try to enter because the Sheppard will lead these people.

2. Rebuilding the Fish Gate

The Sheep Gate showed us the gathering of YHVH’s sheep, and I believe it is all the tribes of Israel (with gentiles) that will be reunited. Some of them (Judah) follow His instructions, but perverted it with man’s oral traditions. The other sheep (Ephraim), are scattered into the nations, living at the gate of Sodom. This brings us to the next Gate, The Fish Gate. The Gate of Sodom is also applicable here and means judgement. The different Gates describe the different ‘denominations’ or ‘people following different doctrines. The Gates expose their weaknesses and give them warning and guide them in what to be cautious of.

The word Fish is first used in Scripture:

Gen 9:2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon the animals of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon all that moves on the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.

The word ‘sea’ means nations, and the ‘fishes’ are the people that are in the nations. Y’shua told the Disciples that they are fishers of men, bringing fish out of the nations, into His Kingdom. These fishes consist of the scattered tribes and gentiles that want to follow Him. Let’s look at the Gate to find out.

Neh 3:3-5
(3) But the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate, who laid its beams and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars. (4) And next to them Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz repaired. And next to them Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel repaired. And next to them Zadok the son of Baana repaired. (5) And next to them the Tekoites repaired. But their nobles (power) did not put their necks to the work of their Master.

Here are the people that rebuild the Fish Gate:

    • Hassenaah – Bramble bush, picky bush, enemy.
    • Meremoth - Bitterness, myrrh of death. Urijah - Flame of Yah,
    • Ur – Capital of Moon worship.
    • Koz - Thorn in the side, to be grieved, to wake up, thorn bush.
    • Meshullam - Peaceable; perfect; friend, to make piece.
    • Berechaih - To be blessed by Yah.
    • Meshezabeel – Delivered of YHVH. Zadock - To be righteous, just.
    • Baana - In the answer, in affliction, to be occupied, be busied with.
    • Tekoites - Trumpet blast, stockade.

There were a lot of people involved in repairing the Fish Gate. The rebuilding of the Gate represents the people that accepted Y’shua that came out of the nations. These people are not yet a completed work because it says that they did not give their necks for the work of their Master. YHVH’s work is to build all of these people into His Tabernacle, according to His pattern. To put your neck or back into something means to be yoked. They did not get fully yoked with Y’shua (Word) to help comple the restoration process. If we look at the meaning of these names, we see different groups of believers. All these believers have the same attitude of ‘happy to be saved’, but they are not willing to be restored back to His design specifications. (get yoked)

Among believers, we see a lot of the following characteristics:

1. Prickly Bushers – People poking you with their swords, better known as legalistic believers. They are very judgmental and are on the alert to correct everybody they see breathing. They do this to feel better about themselves. These kinds of people are found in every denomination. They refuse to help building the temple because they do not yoke themselves with lawless people.

2. Bitter Blabbers – These are people that cannot get out of emotional bondage of the past. They complain all the time and most people are too afraid to ask them how they are doing. They are too depressed and too busy sorting themselves out to help rebuilding the Gate. (Their temple)

3. Mixing Matchers – These are believers that are a bit alternative. They believe in liberty and grace and everything goes, as long as you have sanctified it with prayer. They have the flame (Spirit) and there are a lot of funny stuff going in their midst’s. They are famous for mixing in pagan traditions and use this wealth of customs, to worship YHVH. They look like the world and are big buddies with them. They cannot help to build the gate because it looks too elementary and plain and legalistic.

4. Pesty Parasites– These are people, when you are in their presence, they drain the life out of you. They always want you to pray for them and they always have a problem to pray for. They are always suffering but they ‘trust the Lord’, but you must help carry their burdens. They do not have time to help with the building, because they carry a too heavy load themselves.

5. Holy Smilies – These are the people that live in a bubble. They believe Jesus died for everything that is bad and only good exists. They only believe in Jesus the Lamb, but not the Lion. They love to be with friends, their little ‘Holy huddle’ and only talk about God’s goodness. They have a friendship evangelistic philosophy and live in piece with everybody. They cannot help building the Gate because they are floating somewhere, out there.

6. Prosperous Paupers – Believers whose whole doctrine is build upon the Blessing of Abraham and to be a blessing. Sowing and reaping is high on their list and they believe Jesus died so that we can be blessed and rich. This is a very attractive doctrine, for it radiates a lot of ‘bling’. The shiny cars and diamond rings show how God blessed them and is prove that they are doing the will of God. Sad to say, their spiritual lives are a mess and they are poor as church mice. They cannot help to rebuild the Gate because they paid someone else to do it.

7. Demon Chasers– Believers bound by there believe that Satan is behind everything. Satan gets the blame for all that goes wrong and he gets rebuked a few times per day. If someone new joins their congregation, they must first get delivered before God can use them. They cannot help to rebuild the Gate because Satan is behind it.

8. Faith Force Fighters– They are righteous by faith. The problem is that their faith exceeds their righteousness. They believe that faith is a force God must obey in order to honor His Word. The Word is used out of context to produce ‘faith proclamations’ to stand on. They cannot help to build the Gate because they believe God will supernaturally construct it when they speak it into existence.

9. Busy Bodies – BUSY means, Being Under Satan’s Yoke. They are the wax on, wax off people. They are the system running the people. Their Churches are very Large and run in a very professional organized way. The people attending, are very well looked after, to see to it that their needs are met and that the Church conforms to all their likes. These people are not available to rebuild the Gate, because they are just too BUSY.

10. Final Fearers– Believers entrapped with the end time prophecies, blowing their trumpets all day long. The negative engulfs them and this is the only word on their lips. They do not help rebuilding the Gate because it is too late.

This is the tragic state the Church is in, forecasted by YHVH in this illustration of the rebuilding of the Fish Gate. This revealed state of the Church, is not to be used to judge the people in the church, but it is a personal warning to you too. See that you don’t do these things, humbly seeking YHVH and His Word. If you judge the church, you are worst of than them, always remember that. The Gate is a symbol of the people as the living Tabernacle of YHVH. The refusal to build the Tabernacle (Gate), is a refusal to conform to the construction plan or blueprint of YHVH’s Word and requirements. You are to construct your tabernacle according to His architectural plan (Torah). There are a lot of different people instructed to rebuild this Gate and perfectly fits the Christian Church today.

There are a lot of denominations, each having it’s own idea on how to interpret His Word, but too busy with their own perceptions, to really find out what YHVH really meant. The biggest problem is that most of them agree on one thing; the Law (Torah) is abolished, Jesus nailed it to the cross and we only live by grace. The irony is that YHVH’s Blueprint is written in the Torah and they miss His plan and their Fish Gate’s construction is postponed.

This Gate needs doors, beams, locks and bars:

    • Doors – “deleth” – Lid, something swinging, to hang, to be low, to draw (water).
    • Beams – “qarah” – ‘To light upon’, ‘to encounter’, ‘to call out’, ‘to proclaim’.
    • Locks – “manool” - Bolt, shoe, to bar, to lock, to bolt. From two parts “Mawn” (Manna) and “Ole” (yoke, above)
    • Bars - “bereeach” - Flee, run away, fugitive, chase away, drive away. From left to right – ‘a noble family + house’, life, ‘ to grow white’.

These are the things needed for these people to build their Gate (Tabernacle). They need: · Y’shua, the door, the One that died and hung on the tree. [Doors] · The Light (the Word), to receive it and let it sine, proclaiming it. The beam is used to construct the doorframe, also known as the Mezuzah or doorpost. In the Mezuzah is placed the Law of YHVH (Torah), as a reminder. The beam is the supporting structure (Torah), for the Door (Y’shua) to be mounted on. [Beams] · Have yourself bolted to the foundation of His “Manna” (Spirit + Word) and His “Ole” (Yoke). His Spirit gives you spiritual food so that you can grow spiritually. You will have the Strength to follow His Council (Instructions & Directions) by receiving His Yoke.

The word for Yoke is “Ole” which is the root word for the word “Olam” meaning ‘Virgin, newly married and eternal life’. You get “Olam” by adding a “Mem” (water – word) to “Ole” (Yoke). You need the foundation of the Word (Torah) AND the guidance and interpretation of His Spirit, Who also gives you the Strength to follow it. This fits the Menorah pattern as seen in Isa 11, describing the pattern to know YHVH. [Locks] ·

The word ‘bars’ is constructed by the parts; “Bar” + “Yod” + “Chet”. “Bar” means Son and cleansing. “Yod” means Spirit and Chet means Life. This gives us two important aspects that we need; cleansing by the Son (washing of the Word) and Life in the Spirit. Reading the word “bereeach” from left to right, we get two parts; “cheeraw” (noble family, to become white) + “Bet” (house). In our Fathers House (Bet), we are part of His noble Family , and we will be cleansed by the Son, so that our garments can become white. The fact is that your garment is not white yet. Your garment must be washed by the Word (Torah). Y’shua did not die and now it is white. You must encounter His Word (Y’shua), to wash it clean from Egypt’s ways. [Bars]

To summarize:

These four things have to be restored to rebuild this Gate. These people were not willing to help with the rebuilding process and some of the people have some aspects mentioned here, but they need all of it to fully rebuild the Gate: · Salvation through Y’shua. Most of these people have this part of the Gate right. They have the Door.

The doorpost and beams is one mostly neglected. They think that Jesus died to replace the Torah, and this is a misconception and they have no basis on which the Door can be mounted. They also need the doorpost (mezuzah), proclaiming their status as bondservants. No Doorpost or beam, no bondservant. They must keep the door upright by their own effort, holding into position.

Only half of the Bolts are put in. Only the ‘mamma’ part of the bolts are fixed (Spirit), but not the ‘yoke’ part (His Word – Torah). They have the strength (power), but do not give their necks for the work of their Master (Yoke - Neh 3:5). Y’shua self said that His burdens are light and His Yoke easy. There are burdens and there is a Yoke, they were not abolished. This Yoke has to do with the shape of the doorpost we talked about earlier. The shape of the letter “Tav”, representing His ‘Cross’ to carry. This is the ‘doing’ part of His Word, where the ‘burden’ is carried. As James said; “…without works, faith is dead…” These ‘works’ are the good works predestined before the foundation of the earth, so that we can walk in them. These works are the ‘guiding and protecting boundaries’ of the Torah, and by doing it; you will be safe and life the Chai Olam Life, a special quality of life. This is the one thing in the construction of the Gate is neglected. The bolts are used to fix the lock to the door, keeping the people inside safe by keeping the enemy outside. The people must not only keep the door upright, but also keep it closed by force when the enemy knocks.

The bars are there to cover the hole in the door through which you can see who is outside. Is it a friend or a foe? This is parallel to the thought of decrement. You can only know who is at the door if you know what to look for. The Word is the measuring stick that is used to see who is knocking at your life. For example, if your daughter comes home, asking if she can have a tattoo, what will you do? You will search the scripture to see what YHVH says about this. In this process you know the enemy knocking and you and your family’s garments get washed and stays clean. YHVH does not want us to look like the world (Egypt) and wants us to look different and be different so that we can stand out and people ask us why, then we can tell them. If you look the same, no one will notice you or ask you about YHVH, think about it! This is the part in the door most Christians leave open, without bars. They do not know the enemy or whether their garments are clean or not. Only YHVH can see your garment and He is the one deciding what is a stain and what not. Read His Word and what He said regarding your garment, and wash your garment to be spotless in His sight. This is not legalism; it is common sense to protect your family from the enemy.

3. Repairing the Old Gate

Neh 3:6
And the Old Gate was repaired by Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah. They laid its beams and set up its doors and its locks and its bars. Old Gate: Old – To sleep, to be asleep, old, to store.

First found in Scripture:

Lev 25:22
And you shall sow the eighth year, and eat of old fruit until the ninth year; until its fruits come in, you shall eat the old fruit.

The people had to gather enough ‘fruit’ in the sixth year, and not have any fruit from the seventh year. They will eat of the fruit of the sixth year during the seventh year. This is a reminder to us living in the sixth millennium, that we must get our lives in order (gather enough fruit), so that we will be able to live during the seventh millennium. (New Jerusalem). Only those who have fruit stored up during the sixth year, will enter the seventh year without problems. Gate - Judgement as with the City of Sodom. Don’t look more righteous than the pagans around you, be righteous in YHVH’s eyes. The people that worked on this gate were: Jehoiada - Knowledge of YHVH, YHVH knows.

    • Paseah – “peh-sach” – Passover, to pass over, to limp. (Jacob)
    • Meshullam - Peaceable; perfect; their parables, friend, Is the word “shalom” with a “mem added on the right side. Add His Word to His peace and you become His friend.
    • Besodeiah - Council of YHVH, to receive YHVH’s council

They need to set up the Beams, Doors, the locks and the bars. They are to set up exactly the same things as mentioned at the Fish Gate, they need the Beams, Doors, Locks and Bars.

These people have the Torah, but it needs to be cleansed, so they need to rebuild the following: ·

    • Door – Y’shua the Messiah
    • Beams – “qarah” – ‘To light upon’, ‘to encounter’, ‘to call out’, ‘to proclaim’.
    • Locks - “manool” - Bolt, shoe, to bar, to lock, to bolt. From two parts “Mawn” (Manna) and “Ole” (yoke, above).
    • Bars - “bereeach” - Flee, run away, fugitive, chase away, drive away. From left to right – ‘a noble family + house’, life, ‘ to grow white’.

You have guest it right; this gate represents the Jews, as we call them today. These are the people that have had the Word from the time of Moses. They have knowledge of YHVH, they keep the Pesach and live in YHVH’s culture (crossed over). They need to replace the Beams (Torah), because it has been corrupted by oral traditions. They need a new encounter with the Torah with light shined upon it and the veil removed from it. They need the accept Y’shua as the Messiah to fix the door.

They need to bolt down the locks to the door, accepting the Spirit and the Yoke of Y’shua. Lastly they need to wash their garments from their oral traditions that came in by not even having the Door to protect them, let alone the bars. These people are open to the enemy to attack them, which YHVH allows, so that they can come to the Truth. The result of the things lacking at their Gate, are the things that will bring them to repentance.

4. Comparing the three Gates.

I ask myself the question, why does the Fish Gate need reparation of the Door, beams, locks and bars and the Sheep Gate only reparation of the Door and a Tower. Here are the things lacking in each of these groups.

4.1. The Sheep Gate.

The Fish Gate (Christians) needs a lot more reparation than the Sheep Gate. Why? It is because the Sheep Gate people have Torah and Y’shua. They need to be reminded of their Messiah Y’shua is the Door into the City, not the Torah. Some Messianic believers tend to follow oral traditions and entrap themselves again. They are also to be reminded to guard (Tower) their fruits and hearts, and not to be judgemental towards their Brothers in faith (Christians and Jews). This is also seen in the warning to the First Church:

Rev 2:1-7
(1) To the angel of the church of Ephesus write: He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands, says these things. (2) I know your works and your labor and your patience, and how you cannot bear those who are evil. And you tried those pretending to be apostles, and are not, and have found them liars. (3) And you have borne, and have patience, and for My name's sake you have labored and have not fainted. (4) But I have against you that you left your first love. (5) Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and will remove your lampstand out of its place unless you repent. (6) But you have this, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. (7) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the paradise of Elohim.

The word Ephesus means desirable. The warning to us is to stand guard, guarding your hearts because you have the truth. Guard your hearts from judging others that do not have the whole truth, and never forget that Y’shua is the Door, your First Love. Do the first works, the work to stay humble and remember where you were and where you came from, and do not judge others. In the Scripture there is a parable of a field of grapes with a tower in the middle. The tower was there to guard the fruit, so that the fruit would not be devoured by the birds (enemy), and so that it would not to be stolen.

Rev 2:8-11
(8) And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The First and the Last, who became dead and lived, says these things: (9) I know your works and tribulation and poverty (but you are rich), and I know the blasphemy of those saying themselves to be Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. (10) Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life. (11) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.

Smyrna means myrrh. Let our lives be a sweet smell unto YHVH. This is and encouragement to these who persist in YHVH’s ways although they get a lot of resistance from the Jew, not accepting them as part of Israel. Hold fast and you will receive the crown of life.

4.2. The Fish Gate

The Fish Gate needs a little bit more work. They need to get the right perspective on who Jesus really is, that He is Hebrew and lived in a Hebrew culture. They also need to accept the whole Word, not just the New Testament. They need to search the Scripture to get Egypt out of them and to get their garments clean.

Rev 2:12-17
(12) And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write: He who has the sharp sword with two edges says these things. (13) I know your works, and where you live, even where Satan's seat is . And you hold fast My name and have not denied My faith, even in those days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells. (14) But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the teachings of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit fornication. (15) So you also have those who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. (16) Repent! But if not I will come to you quickly, and will fight with them by the sword of My mouth. (17) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give to him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he who receives it .

Pergamos means height or elevation. There are leaders that deceive the people and give Satan a seat in their congregations. In these assemblies, there are pure and honest believers that hold fast to His Name and kept the faith, these will receive the crown of life. There are others that eat meat sacrificed to Idols (Kosher) and promote unclean eating. Others worship idols inside the church by hanging onto the teaching of Balaam (mixing) and the Nicilatians (Roman paganism – Easter, Christmas ext.). There is hope for those who repent and may this be a warning to us all.

Rev 2:18-29
(18) And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of Elohim, He who has His eyes like a flame of fire and His feet like burnished metal, says these things: (19) I know your works and love and service and faith and your patience, and your works; and the last to be more than the first. (20) But I have a few things against you because you allow that woman Jezebel to teach, she saying herself to be a prophetess, and to cause My servants to go astray, and to commit fornication, and to eat idol-sacrifices. (21) And I gave her time that she might repent of her fornication, and she did not repent. (22) Behold, I am throwing her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction, unless they repent of their deeds. (23) And I will kill her children with death. And all the churches will know that I am He who searches the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works. (24) But to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, and who have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak, I will put on you no other burden. (25) But that which you have, hold fast until I come. (26) And he who overcomes and keeps My works to the end, to him I will give power over the nations. (27) And he will rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of a potter they will be broken to pieces, even as I received from My Father. (28) And I will give him the Morning Star. (29) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Thyatira means; ‘a perfume’ or ‘sacrifice of labour’. Jezebel means; ‘to live sexually pure’ and ‘to speak only pure words’. This is exactly what she is not. She comes into the church with a face of purity and words that are clean. When she won the favour of man, she starts spreading her diseases, corrupting YHVH’s ways and changing His Word. This is the character of Satan, coming, as an Angel of light, only those who cling to YHVH’s Word, will be able to see his works. People are blinded by her beauty and bedazzled by her smell and odour. She causes the people to worship idols without them even knowing it because they do not search the Word themselves and trust those in leadership. But to those who stay pure within this system, they will receive a reward.

4.3. The Old Gate.

The Old gate need a new doorpost, the Torah enlightened, and their door is burnt down and they have no locks and bars. They are open targets to the enemy but are ready to receive a New Door. They need the revelation of Y’shua the Messiah and receive His Spirit so that their garments can be cleansed from defilements of human traditions. Here is a message to them, as written in Revelation.

Rev 3:1-6
(1) And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of Elohim and the seven stars says these things. I know your works, that you have a name that you live, and are dead. (2) Be watchful and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die. For I have not found your works being fulfilled before YHVH. (3) Remember then how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. (4) You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments. And they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. (5) The one who overcomes, this one will be clothed in white clothing. And I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (6) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Sardis means; ‘prince of joy’. They have the joy of Torah but have defiled garments. They have been polluted with Oral Traditions and this blinds them to know the timing of YHVH, although they keep the appointed times. Those who will wash their garments and be ready, they will overcome. You must wash your clothes by accepting the Door (Y’shua) and fix the locks and bars (Ruach). Then your eyes will be opened to see His plan and timing and you will not be caught like a thief in the night.

Rev 3:7-13
(7) And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts; and shuts and no one opens, says these things: (8) I know your works. Behold, I have given before you an open door, and no one can shut it. For you have a little strength and have kept My Word and have not denied My name. (9) Behold, I give out of those of the synagogue of Satan, those saying themselves to be Jews and are not, but lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. (10) Because you have kept the Word of My patience, I also will keep you from the hour of temptation which will come upon all the habitable world, to try those who dwell upon the earth. (11) Behold, I come quickly. Hold fast to that which you have, so that no one may take your crown. (12) Him who overcomes I will make him a pillar in the temple of My Elohim, and he will go out no more. And I will write upon him the name of My Elohim, and the name of the city of My Elohim, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of Heaven from My Elohim, and My new name. (13) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Philadelphia means; ‘love of a brother’. This is written to comfort those who are ‘Jews’ who accepted Messiah. They have the key of David and an open door to enter into His City. The ones from the Synagogue of Satan (Pharisees), will at the end, come and acknowledge that they have been wrong. They must not stop loving their brothers who are still entrapped. Hold fast to the Truth and you will be greatly rewarded.

4.4. These three Gates - Conclusion

To recap, there are three Gates mentioned here, these are three categories of people found in all of today’s churches. Some aspects described under a certain Gate, will naturally group people into a denomination, like for instance, the Orthodox Jews. They will form part of the Old Gate. But you can find Old Gate people in Dutch reform Churches as well. These Gates are not to group people according to their church denominations, but rather group them according to their outlook on doctrine and beliefs. May these praises and warnings be taken to heart by all people and may you all guard an keep your hearts pure and keep on searching YHVH and His ways.
